Sleep Coach ~ Teaching Children to Sleep Through the Night

Ancy Lewis, LCSW, is a gentle sleep coach committed to helping exhausted parents teach their children to sleep through the night. Ancy is passionate about helping people improve the quality of their family life since lack of sleep in children can disrupt their health and overall happiness in the home. Ancy believes that establishing positive sleep habits can reduce or eliminate those disruptions and improve families' quality of life. She specializes in training children under the age of six, although her techniques can be effective for all ages.

On Wednesday, October 26th at 6:30 p.m, Ancy will discuss methods to prepare your child for daylight savings time which falls on Sunday November 6th this year. She will also discuss the "5 things likely keeping your child up at night," along with the best approaches to combat those triggers.

What's a Neuropsychological Evaluation? Does Your Child Need One?

Dr. Emily Lantz, a licensed clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist will partner with the NYC Chapter of Mothers and More on Wednesday, September 21 at 6:30 pm to discuss "What a neuropsychological evaluation is and how to know if your child needs one."

Dr. Lantz will review what to expect during the evaluation and how testing helps diagnosis between learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and other developmental or acquired brain disorders. In addition, a neuropsychological evaluation helps parents better understand their child's strengths and weaknesses, intellectual abilities and academic needs (e.g. classroom and test accommodations) by providing a cognitive and learning profile for each child. The result of the evaluation is a comprehensive written report and a thorough review of tests results during the verbal feedback session.
