Power of a Purse - June 3rd Event in NYC

As you may know, last year Mothers & More of NYC delivered 150 pocketbooks, filled with items donated by Pampered Chef, Barclay's & Loreal, to the YWCA of the City of New York. The YWCA distributed the bags through their Women's Empowerment Network which provides women with information and resources to inspire hope and establish a sense of saftey for their families.

Once again, Mothers & More is seeking donations of new or like-new purses for the women who call The YWCA of the City of New York home. All donations are tax deductible and we would provide the proper tax form. This year we will sponsor an event on Friday, June 3rd at the YWCA and close the event by presenting the Women's Empowerment Network with the pocketbooks.

Donated purses may be dropped off at Moonsoup located at 1059 2nd Avenue between 55th and 56th Streets in NYC. Business owners wishing to donate services or items are encouraged to contact us at mothers.more.nyc@gmail.com

Power of a Purse – Style Your Financial Future!

The annual Mothers & More Mother’s Day Campaign raises member and community awareness about key social and economic issues that affect mothers’ lives and well-being. Mother’s Day Campaign 2011 aims to activate the ways we think about our life-long financial health, empowering us to use the power of our purses more intentionally.

Purses symbolize a woman’s economic power, something we wish for all women, especially mothers in need. More than an accessory, a purse and its contents reflect the many roles and responsibilities mothers shoulder every day.

We are excited to introduce Empowered PURSE this year, a series of conversations that guides moms in a fun and unique way on our personal money journey. Power of a Purse also returns in its more familiar form: a community drive designed to draw attention to mothers’ economic issues through the act of collecting new or gently used purses for mothers in need.
